My Moment of Yes!

Lately, I’ve really been thinking about the promise that my husband and I made to each other on our wedding day, “for better or for worse.” Our 2-year wedding anniversary has just passed by last month and I can’t believe how quickly time has gone by! Marriage is beautiful and at times hard, but probably one of the best things ever in my life because I’m married to my best friend. I thank God every day for Mark and how he cares for me, for better or for worse.
This summer has been one of the craziest ones yet, I think. We both have been so busy with work, travel, home projects, visiting family, etc. I can’t remember the last weekend we had at home doing nothing! With all this running around I’ve realized that neglecting self-care and not paying attention to the way we treat one another can so quickly become routine, which isn’t cool.
We talked about ways that we can make taking care of one another a priority when we’re busy and one of the things we both agreed on is eating better. Instead of ordering another pizza, or getting something cheap and unhealthy, we’re going to grocery shop with our health in mind but also get things that we know won’t take too long to make. This is where Campbell’s Well Yes!® Soup comes in!
We are making a decision to eat healthier, but that doesn’t mean we need to get foods that we don’t love! When my husband works long days, or just has a hard week, I love being able to take care of him and show him I care in different ways. One of these ways is having lunch or dinner made and sitting down with him to just talk and laugh and focus on the good in our lives.
Campbell’s Well Yes! Soup encouraged me to share my “Moment of Yes” story and that’s what I wanted to do with you today. Things have been a little tough at home lately with the loss of a loved one, Mark having a few events to prepare for at work which causes him to work late, weddings, dinners, meetings, and not to mention Fern just having surgery. So much has happened in such a short amount of time and we’ve been driving so much and not getting much sleep. We’re seeing the results both emotionally and physically. As I was thinking about our anniversary coming up the other day and how we might not have the time to really do anything special I remembered, “for better or worse.” Even when we’re tired and busy and not sure where life is taking us, we’re together and we can count on one another.
Simply taking some time to enjoy a meal together and share our hearts with one another is such a huge blessing. Choosing to say “yes!” to time with my husband instead of vegging out on my phone or in front of the tv is a decision I gladly make. Getting to make that my “moment of yes” is pretty special; choosing to spend time with him over a delicious bowl of soup and great conversation.
So far, we’ve tried three different flavors- Chicken Noodle Soup, Hearty Lentil with Vegetables Soup, and Minestrone with Kale Soup. They’re all delicious and still have that familiar Campbell’s taste that leaves you wanting more. Something I absolutely love about these Well Yes! Soups is that they’re a line of soups made with nutritious ingredients, like chicken meat with no antibiotics, sweet potatoes, kale, and quinoa, they contain non-bpa lining, and they are made with non-gmo ingredients.
So not only am I choosing to say yes to quality time with Mark, but I am choosing to do so over a healthy meal instead of another fast-food run. As their brand promise says- “say yes to the good stuff so you have what you need to say yes in the rest of your life.”
