Peach Picking

Yesterday my friend Kimi and I went to Brecknock Orchard to pick some peaches and cut some flowers from the "cut-your-own" flower garden. It was a really nice way to enjoy the beautiful (but insanely warm) summer day!

I never knew there were so many different kinds of peaches! Red Haven, White Haven, Tommy Boy, White Peaches, Donut Peaches... the list goes on.

We weren't a huge fan of the Tommy Boy's, although we loved the name. They were really fuzzy and not as sweet as the Red Haven which is what we ended up mostly picking. So delicious!

Most of the ripe peaches were long gone, so we had to do some serious searching and even taste test a few. We each got 1/2 a peck's worth of peaches and paid less than $10 which was awesome. Is it just me, or does fruit seem to taste better when you are the one picking it? By the end of the trip, we were ready to get back in the AC and enjoy our sweet, delicious peaches!

How are you enjoying these last few days of summer? Have you tried peach picking or visiting an orchard before?
