Summer Goals & Plans
Can you
believe that June is already here? It seems that the older I get, the faster
time goes by and before I know it I’ll be turning 23, celebrating my marriage’s
one year anniversary, and getting ready for Christmas all over again! Isn’t
that wild?
I
wanted to share a few things with you today that I am super excited for this
summer. I absolutely can’t wait to share and my fingers aren’t typing fast
enough!
Plans:
This
weekend I'm going to be hosting Oakmoss Collective's first event of 2016! I'm
really excited to get together with some other creatives and make connections
as Betsy and Jordan
teach our group some photography tips and we all have brunch! (There are still some tickets left for
anyone interested in attending!) Getting ready for this workshop has been a lot
of work but also a ton of fun! I can't wait for it to be here.
In
addition to the workshop, over the last few months one of my best friends,
Jessica, and I have been planning a 3-week trip to France. I'm not quite sure
if its sunk in yet... like France, what?? No way! We leave next week and I've
definitely been putting off the packing... 90% of the time I'm a procrastinator
when it comes to packing. Anyone else?
Speaking
of packing, Mark and I are also moving at the beginning of July and we need to
pack up the apartment before I leave for France because he will be away for the
next 2 and a half weeks as well for work. Our apartment is a disaster. So much
stuff everywhere, and if I didn't want to start living minimally before I sure
do now. If you could take a second to say a little prayer for us it would be
much appreciated. Stress is not helpful for our marriage, our to-do list, and
our current living arrangements. Whew! (If you follow me on snapchat, you got a pretty clear picture of how hard it is for me to stay focused on packing.)
Goals:
Goals:
+ Not
lose my mind over the next couple days. So much to do, so little
time.
+ Live in
the moment. Lately I've been thinking about what I need to do, how I can
improve things, what can I make myself busy with, etc. I just want to enjoy the
here and now and let summer unfold in the most simple, beautiful way.
+ Read 2
books this month. We have a 23 hour layover and very long flights when we leave
for France so I feel like this won't be a problem with all that airport time!
+
Exercise more! I started a challenge with SWEAT fitness (a
blog post on that coming soon!) and fell a little behind. I'm hoping to jump
right back in and tone my muscles as well as eat a little healthier too.
+
Have more "explore" days with my husband. Whether we walk around
Harrisburg or Lancaster or even somewhere a bit farther, I want us to
learn and laugh and enjoy our weekends this summer.
What about you? Any goals for the summer or exciting plans? I'd love to hear them in the comments below!
