Goals for the New Year!
Happy New Year everyone! I can't believe that it's already here. It feels like the Christmas season should still be happening. (Check out my recap and giveaway here). Essentially it's just another Friday, another weekend, another wintry afternoon. But one thing that I love about the feeling of New Year's Day is that anything is possible. You get this burst of confidence and energy and feel like running a mile (well, maybe not... but you get what I mean). So today I am going to share with you a few of my goals (and hopefully ones that are kept)!
For NYE we had several tentative plans but I was sick and Mark's car was acting up so we decided to just stay home. We ordered Chinese food, bought a cocktail shrimp platter, crackers and goat cheese, and rosemary + olive oil chips. It was a very eclectic spread. Then Mark learned how to play "Auld Lang Syne" on a plastic melodica, we watched The Martian, and kissed at midnight. A friend stopped by too and it was the perfect little night in for our first NYE as a married couple. It's weird saying that about everything. "Our first apartment," "Our first Christmas Eve," "Our first New Years." Life is ever-moving! So, after a cozy little night in, we woke up and made some coffee in our new Chemex, baked come French Toast Casserole, and talked about goals. Here are a few of mine!
+ Eat healthier. This one is a goal of mine every year because right around the holidays is when I start eating more cookies and cocoa and sweets and then I feel gross. So it's time to start buying more veggies and fruits and healthy options!
+ Travel more with my husband. Mark and I have 2 trips planned so far and I cannot wait!
+ Create something everyday. This is a goal that Mark and I both share. Whether it is art, something for my blog, or something that no one ever sees, we want to be the best creatives we can be.
+ Kindness. Grace. Forgiveness. Compared to where I was last year, my heart has really grown but I want to continue to treat others how I want to be treated. I want to be gracious and forgiving in all situations and show kindness as much as I can. This goal seems like a no brainer, but some days it'll be hard. I know that, but I want to be better at it.
2016 Goals: (Blog/Creatively)
+ Quality. What I create, what I post, what I photograph. I want to be proud of my work!
+ Transparent. I believe that I'm pretty transparent on social media and with A Tiny Traveler, but there are days when I don't always write openly and about what I love. (See this post for my new outlook on blogging) Here I am, this is me! No more conforming to what's trendy and what I think people want to read.
+ Prepare and teach my Social Media Class to the best of my ability! I am so excited for my first email course and I hope you'll join in!
+ Paint more.
+ Work on my lettering and create new pieces for Tiny Traveler Creative.
