Sometimes we all just need a little encouragement. For me, reading my Bible can be very encouraging. Spending time with God can be so refreshing and just fill your heart with peace, and yet at times can fill you with conviction and help you see things in life that need changing, which is never a bad thing. We can always be improving! Below are a few things that have encouraged me over the last few weeks and I've posted on my devotional tumblr, A Fragile Surrender. I hope that you find some encouragement here and that you start off your week with a heart filled with peace and joy!
"True dependence is not simply asking Me to bless what you have decided to do. It is coming to Me with an open mind and heart, inviting Me to plant My desires within you." -Jesus Calling (Sarah Young)
"Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. We live by faith, not by sight. We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it." -2 Corinthians 5:6-9
"Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his. He changes times and seasons; he sets up kings and deposes them. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him. I thank and praise you, O God of my fathers: You have given me wisdom and power, you have made known to me what we asked of you, you have made known to us the dream of the king."
