be still.

For Christmas, my mom got me a devotional book called "Jesus Calling" by Sarah Young. It's written from the perspective of God and filled with encouragement and verses that have really applied to my life lately. Today, the entry had to do with being still and waiting in God's presence.
It says the following:

"Thank Me for the conditions that are requiring you to be still. Do not spoil these quiet hours by wishing them away, waiting impatiently to be active again. Some of the greatest works in My kingdom have been done from sickbeds and prison cells. Instead of resenting the limitations of a weakened body, search for My way in the midst of these very circumstances.
limitations can be liberating when your strongest desire is living close to Me.
Quietness and trust enhance your awareness of My Presence with you. Do not despise these simple ways of serving Me. Although you feel cut off from the activity in the world, your quiet trust makes a powerful statement in spiritual realms. My Strength and Power show themselves most effective in weakness."

The verses that went along with this devotional are Zechariah 2:13, Isaiah 30:15, 2 Corinthians 12:9.

This devotion also reminded me of a song by TwentyOne Pilots called "Car Radio" and its suuuper great :)  It's about how we hate the silence, but we can't always run from it and I think if we accept that and enjoy the silence, God can really speak to us. I seriously can't listen to it enough. It is fun to dance to, fun to sing with, there's even some rap in it; you know, all the good stuff! So be blessed by this devotional and jam out to this song.
Happy Monday!
