a trip to the capitol.

Two weeks ago, I had the lovely opportunity to travel to one of out country's most important cities, Washington D.C.! I went with Mark, his sister Betsy, and their parents. It was a simple overnight trip, but we did so much in the two days we were there. On Friday we went to Ford's Theatre, the National Archives and got our very own Researcher Cards, and then we had lunch. After lunch we did a little more sightseeing and then had dinner at a place called Old Ebbitt's Grill. It was great!

Saturday, because of some complications with Betsy and I's room, we got free breakfast and I tried a bagel with Cream Cheese, Lox and Capers! It was...interesting. I felt fancy, for sure.

Later in the day, we went on a bike ride around the mall by lakes and monuments, through trees, and across busy streets. It was very fun! We rode up to the Capitol Building, visited the Hirshorn Art Museum, saw the Constitution and Declaration of Independence, and then drove to Baltimore for lunch and shopping before heading home. It was such a lovely trip and I can't wait for more little weekend trips in the future! I am so blessed!
