Missing My Forever.
I am running,
slowly running, gaining
on my prey, my destination.
My destination of a forever.
This forever seems so real
A promise that cannot be rid.
So I sit and I wait
For forever to begin.
I roll over and let sleep
explode through the air conditioning unit.
Slowly releasing stagnant
waves of complacency.
Days go by, weeks.
The dreams begin to replay themselves.
Slowly, I recognize details of my imagination.
Blowing away through the breeze in the curtains.
Suddenly, light and colour and electricity
jolt me back to reality.
My youth has passed me by and I am alone.
For I have slept through my forever.
slowly running, gaining
on my prey, my destination.
My destination of a forever.
This forever seems so real
A promise that cannot be rid.
So I sit and I wait
For forever to begin.
I roll over and let sleep
explode through the air conditioning unit.
Slowly releasing stagnant
waves of complacency.
Days go by, weeks.
The dreams begin to replay themselves.
Slowly, I recognize details of my imagination.
Blowing away through the breeze in the curtains.
Suddenly, light and colour and electricity
jolt me back to reality.
My youth has passed me by and I am alone.
For I have slept through my forever.
