Finals Week Encouragement

I know that a lot of my readers are between the ages of 18 and 30, but I wanted to write a special post for those that are still in school about to take finals this week! Here is some encouragement that I've either found online, in the Bible, or some thoughts that I just wanted to share. Good luck this week and next (to those who are taking tests and frantically writing term papers)!

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;  in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

John 16:33

"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

2 Timothy 1:7

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.

^^ this verse in 2 Timothy is especially encouraging when we get lazy and don't want to study. God gave us a spirit of self-discipline. Turn off Netflix, stop playing video games or cleaning or whatever else you're doing to procrastinate, and open up your textbooks! Start studying and learn that material. God gave us brains, so let's use them!

Some people that the entire world looks up to didn't succeed at first. Or the second try. So be encouraged and keep going! You've got this and God will give your heart peace and assurance if you ask. Good luck on your finals, your homework, and the end of the semester fellow students! We're almost there!

How can I pray for you this week?

  1. What an encouraging post. Thank you for sharing. Although I have been done with grad school for a few years now, I still find myself procrastinating on important projects at work. I put things off because I am afraid of failing or the outcome. Usually once I just dig in, I find that things are not as hard or as scary as they once seemed. Hang in there all you folks in school. School is not forever! The finals, term papers, and written tests will end!

  3. Thank you so much for taking the time to post these notes of encouragement. I have two finals to go, and immediately after that, I begin a short two week winter-mester. This was a really great reminder to slow down and just breathe. Life goes on, and Jesus is King, so why worry?!

  6. EXACTLY! God is good and in control of all things, so anxiety and worry and fear are only going to keep us from what he has for us. Best wishes for your finals and "winter-jester" :)
