Hey friends! If you follow me on Instagram then you probably saw Mark and I were in southern California the last couple of days with some friends and we had such a nice time. Seriously, I already can't wait to get back.

As I was getting ready for the trip and packing and cleaning up the apartment (don't you love coming home from travel to a clean home?) I decided I wanted to freshen up my hair color and style just a bit, because who doesn't love entering into a new season with fresh locks?

I chose the new got2b® Metallic hair color because its the brand in which my personality can be expressed through all their color options! I chose the smokey steel shade and I love it! Not even a day after I dyed my hair, I was receiving all kinds of compliments, which shows me I chose the right brand and color :) One thing I love about this brand of hair dye is that I can be myself and have fun with my look all at once. They focus on empowering consumers to express their originality (consumer centric vs. product centric) offering. It gives you the tools to create your own unique looks. I feel like the color really refreshed and revived my look. Here is a before and after photo:

There were so many great colors to choose from and I definitely plan on trying one or two more out in the future. I picked up the got2b® Metallic hair color at my local Walmart and I also grabbed got2b® Defiant Shine Pomade to use for the tutorial I want to share with you today.

Its been a little over a week since I dyed my hair and I still can see the results. The color is vibrant and I feel so fresh! I also was in like, every climate in the last 6 days so to see it holding out so well is really great. One style that I have been loving as the weather gets warmer is low space buns. For this tutorial I wanted to braid them to give a fun flair!

Step One: Using the pomade  I smoothed down my hair (it also helps bring more shine to the look) and divided it down the middle to the back, as if creating pig tails.

Step Two: Start to braid from the crown of your head down to about your ear lobe, adding hair to each strand of the braid as you go. Use the got2b® pomade to smooth things down if need be.

Step Three: Twist the remaining hair into a bun and secure with clear elastics. I have thicker hair so I used two. Then repeat the same steps for the other side.

You may need to make alterations if the buns are different sizes or pin some hair with bobby pins. Finish with hairspray to ensure a look that will last all day! Where will you rock your new space buns? If you're in need of more ideas for hair colors and products to try, follow got2b® on Instagram!

We had a great time in California and I can't wait to share some more posts about it, so stay tuned.
