Hey friends! I am so excited that spring is on the way. With spring comes fresh flowers, green grass, Easter + St. Patrick's Day and all the treats that come with it! Some of my favorite things to do in the spring are going on walks outside with Mark, planting some flowers in our window box garden, and celebrating all the holidays with family and friends

Another thing I love to do (anytime of the year, really) is to spoil our little fur-baby, Fern. She is just the sweetest little cat and I love giving her new toys and treats but it can add up. So, today I wanted share a little DIY with you guys for some no-sew cat toys.

First, you'll need felt, non-toxic glue (I used a glue gun), scissors, and a pen or marker. Trace out a template and then use that to cut out two of everything. I made a fish and a little chicken leg! *Its important to only use the marker/pen for the template because your cat will be putting these in their mouth and you don't want them to get ink in their system.

Next, glue the pieces together and stuff them with the felt scraps before gluing them shut. You could also use cotton balls (or even a serving of catnip if you want to get really crazy!) Once they are dry, you can glue on the embellishments (the eye for the fish and the bone detail for the chicken). Again, wait until they're dry and then gift them to your cat! Simple!

I personally believe its important to give your pets the best, especially if they're foster animals. Fern was found in an alley and was so sick! It took her some time to get back to full health, and ever since I've just been so focused on keeping her healthy. We tried different foods and we've been making sure that she is getting exercise with lots of playing (plus she runs up and down the stairs like a fiend every night).

When feeding your pet, you want to make sure that the food is as good as it can be, and honestly thats hard to find in some cat foods! Rachael Ray™ Nutrish® Longevity Cat Food contains so many good things like farm-raised chicken, a real superfood blend for lifelong nutrition with a focus on your cat's heart, mind, and body, and flat-out real ingredients. Rachael Ray™ Nutrish® Purrfect Entrees are made with wild caught salmon, white meat chicken, or yellowfin tuna with some veggies and culinary sauces- a classic and delicious meal for your cat! Another thing that I LOVE about this brand is they don't contain poultry by-product meal or fillers. Real recipes. Real Ingredients. Real Good.

Fern also really loves the Rachael Ray™ Nutrish® Purrfect Entrees™ Cravin’ Chicken Dinner™ Recipe. These Purrfect Entrees are yummy recipes made with wild caught salmon, white meat chicken, or yellowfin tuna - accented with tender veggies and served in delicious culinary sauces. They are culinary classics… purrfected! Not only does Fern love it, but I love it too because it is grain free, doesn't contain ground corn, wheat, or soy, has no poultry by-product meal or fillers, and is free from artificial flavors, colors, and artificial preservatives!

A portion of the sales from Nutrish are donated to The Rachael Ray Foundation to help animals in need, which is great to an animal lover and cat rescuer like me! Through December 2017, more than $23.5 million dollars have been donated to animal charities and other organizations that do good for animals. The funds are used for food, medical supplies, treatments, and more. Many more animals around the country need help, and through The Rachael Ray Foundation, together we can make a real difference in the lives of many four-legged friends.

Be sure to check out your local store and pick up some of this food for your cat too! You can even find Nutrish coupons here

  3. These are the cutest, Natalie! I did a Christmas stocking for my cat this year and was so surprised at how expensive cat toys can be. I love the idea of making my own!
