Poise LBL + Bridal Emergency Kit - A Tiny Traveler

Poise LBL + Bridal Emergency Kit

3:39 PM

I'm getting married in 2 and a half months. Time is flying by and there's still so much to do!! With finishing up the invitations and working on some of the essentials for the big day, I've come to realize that I will probably need a bridal emergency kit.

I've looked up what people usually put in them on Pinterest, and aside from the essential bobby pins, deodorant, and ibuprofen, each kit was different. I thought about what types of things I might need. I honestly couldn't think of anything. Then I started freaking out because what if there was an emergency and I wasn't prepared? What if I forget to bring something along or something happens to my dress? What if I get my period? All these questions bounced around in my head, and I took a step back. I can't prepare for any possible thing that could happen, but I can grab the essentials and make sure that I am at least prepared if there were a small incident.

Ladies, let me tell you how calm I became once I made a list and went to Target to get what I needed for my kit. One more thing I can check off the wedding prep list! In my kit I decided to include bobby pins, ibuprofen, small sized makeup like lipstick and mascara, and Poise micro liners.  I chose Poise because if everything works out the way it's supposed to and the dates line up, my time of the month won't occur while I'm dancing the afternoon away. But to be safe, I've decided to try this product out.

This specific "pad" raised some questions when I first heard of it. What is LBL? Do I really need this kind or can I try and fit a bigger pad in my emergency kit (which would eliminate some other items, unfortunately). Here's what I got:

"WHAT IS LBL?
• One in three women experience Light Bladder Leakage (LBL) – little leaks that can be triggered by everyday occurrences like coughing, sneezing, laughing and exercise.
- Weak pelvic floor muscles, pregnancy, childbirth and weight gain are just a few LBL contributors.

WHAT CAUSES LBL?
Just as no two women are alike, there's no single reason that LBL happens. Some of the most common things that lead to uninvited leaks include:
• Physical changes from childbirth, pregnancy, hysterectomy or menopause
• Being overweight
• Complications from surgery, stroke, or chronic diseases like diabetes, multiple sclerosis (MS) or Parkinson's disease
• Bladder or urinary tract infections
• Bladder irritants (certain foods and beverages)

HOW CAN I BEST MANAGE MY LBL?
Women deserve the best options for managing LBL. Whether you leak a little when you laugh, or sometimes have a sudden urge to go, Poise gives you one less thing to worry about any time of day or night. Our pads and liners are specifically designed for LBL, which makes them an easy choice for the 1 in 3 women with light bladder leaks.

FIND YOUR PERFECT PRODUCT
Stay fresh and confident with Poise® pads and liners. They're designed specifically for Light Bladder Leakage (LBL), which make them an easy choice for the 1 in 3 women who experiences LBL.

POISE THIN-SHAPE PADS
Designed to move with your body, new Poise Thin-Shape pads feature Super Absorbent Material (SAM) and a Thin-Flex design for extraordinary protection that’s still 3x drier than period pads*† to help you take care of leaks with confidence.

*vs. leading regular size period products, where most needed"

In addition, I read about Poise's #RecycleYourPeriodPad campaign where they urge customers to use the pad materials for things other than trying to aid in LBL control (because, duh, that's what Poise is for!).  I figured that adding Poise to my bridal emergency kit was the next best thing to ibuprofen and bobby pins!

Let me also say that they're thin enough to put a handful in your purse or pocket and not cause an issue. I definitely recommend you try some today! Let me know what you think and what sorts of items you'd put in your mini emergency wedding day kit in the comments below.

  2. My bridesmaids put together an emergency kit for my wedding day and it was very appreciated. I think we used the bobby pins, hairspray, and sewing kit. The kit then got packed into the car for our honeymoon and we used the deodorant and sunscreen while we were on our honeymoon!
