A Day on the Boat.

In just a few shorts weeks June will be here and with it, the start of the summer season. I am so excited to go to cookouts, watch fireworks, sit around the campfire, take a trip to the beach, and go boating! Every summer (at least 2 or 3 times) I've been able to spend a day on the lake with family or friends. It's one of my favorite summer activities!

Growing up I had the opportunity every summer to go with some of my family to our lake house and spend the week hanging out on the boat fishing and swimming and relaxing.  Last summer, Mark and I went on a boat with Mark's coworkers and their families and we officially called it "Boat Day." We packed lunches and spent the day laughing and swimming and making great memories. We rented a boat, which is the best thing ever because you don't have to drive it around on a hitch, you just show up and it's in the water!

This summer, I'm looking forward to Boat Day with our friends and their families and swimming and just enjoying the sunshine and their company. Mark and I have been talking about what we'll do if we ever missed out on Boat Day or if we want to go out on our own and this leads us to Discover Boating! This obviously is something that we need to save up for, but we found great places to buy a boat! (Trust me, if you know Mark you know that he some day wants to own a boat). There are also lots of great tips for boating activities like tubing, water skiing, boat clubs, and fishing as well as places to go boating for a day or two.

Not really a boat wiz? That's okay! You can read more on the site about different boat types, laws, hitches, towing, and certification!

I've also caught myself day dreaming about one of Discover Boating's more recent posts about the top 5 charter areas. They are beautiful!! So here's to hoping that one day Mark + I will own a boat, but until then, we look forward to Boat Day every summer!

Do you like boating? What's one of your favorite posts on Discover Boating's website?
