A Tiny Traveler's Tour Through Blogland!

Hello readers! I hope that you're all having a fantastic week! Last week, Betsy asked me to do a tour throughout A Tiny Traveler. She asked me a few questions and I thought it would be a great idea to show you all around the site and share some ideas/posts I've been working on. I will nominate three other bloggers at the end of this post too! The questions that Betsy asked me are all about my creative process and why I create, etc. So without further ado, welcome to A Tiny Traveler: Behind the Scenes!
First of all, let me show off my work space.
I moved into this apartment about a month ago and I absolutely love it. It gives off such an "old-school" vibe because of the wood paneling on the walls and my desk is right near the window, which I love.
Here is a photo of my desk:

1) What am I working on?
Currently, I am working on a few different projects. One that is already posted is the Tiny Traveler Mug Swap. Be sure to check it out and get yourself a partner for this awesome snail mail adventure!
Something that I haven't really posted about is the revamp of my Etsy store. What was once Knotted Twine will (hopefully) soon be Oakmoss. I'm not sure if it will be on Etsy again or it's own website. I am in the process of doing some concept work and mapping things out, but hopefully I will get it started soon! Honestly I hated Knotted Twine. My heart wasn't in it and that was beginning to show. I am very excited for both of these projects. Let me know what you think!

2) How does my work differ from others from its genre?
Well, in some ways it is similar. I would like to think that people enjoy the work I put out because it appeals to them and their tastes, and perhaps they can relate. In another way, it is different because of where it's coming from. No one has lived the life that I am living, so my experiences that I blog about are unique to a degree. I also think that I differ in my blog because I do a little bit of everything. Lifestyle, DIY/Recipes, faith-based posts, music, and recently some reviews, so I hope that while I may not be entirely different from everyone, at least there is that little something that keeps people interested!

3) Why do I write/create what I do?
I write for several reasons. The first is because it feels good to have a creative outlet. I like being creative with my posts whether with a recipe, project, or collection of thoughts. The second is because it's a place that I can update people on what is going on in my life. I wish I could have an hour long conversation with every family member and friend I have, but reality is that it'd be impossible! So here is a place that I can let people know what's up. I also really enjoy the friendships I've been making with other bloggers through The Peony Project, a group for bloggers that Betsy started and I help lead with another blogger, Megan!

4) How does your writing/creating process work?
Usually I write about events that happen in my life or little trips that I take (to sort of stick with a theme of being the tiny traveler) and I ask others to contribute as well with their stories of adventure and lessons learned while on the road or overseas. On top of that I love being creative and sharing that creativity with others, whether that is through poetry, a playlist I made on Spotify, or a recipe!
If I am away from my computer and I come up with a post idea, I'll jot it down on a piece of paper and throw it in my purse, then I'll find it a few days later all crumpled up and get super excited and start writing. That isn't the intent, but it happens more times than I'd care to admit!
As far as the creating process, I love to paint and I get the privilege to do so with a ministry I help run called Inspire. I also have been working on my calligraphy lately!

{My make-shift bookshelf}

Flowers are a must have. I always have them somewhere.
Colored pencils and paintbrushes.
A photo of Betsy and I in a frame that she got me for my birthday.
Markers and pens. I can never have enough!
Stationery//Greeting cards.
So far, this is my favorite part of my wall.
I need to hang more stuff up, but it'll get there!

Well guys, thanks for taking time to read a little bit about my creative process! I am nominating these awesome bloggers for the next round of the tour:
