twelve days of christmas: day four.

So sorry that these are so late!! My schedule all of a sudden became insanely busy, and on top of that, the internet at home stopped working! What. A. Mess.
Anyhow, here are the past few posts! Who doesn’t love a couple of great Christmas posts all on the same day? {Enjoy}

Mr. Mark Gettis, Sr.

At the parade in Philadelphia!

Today I would like to show special appreciation to Mark Gettis, Sr. My boyfriend’s dad is one of the most strong and positive people that I know, in light of any situation. He has inspired me to see the good in all things, even when it is difficult. Mr. Gettis was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in late spring of 2013 and after hearing such news, you would expect worry and fear, even loss of hope to arise. But not with Mr. Gettis and his family! “Just another road bump I’ll get over!” he would say. He knew that God’s will would be carried out in his life and in the lives of his family, no matter how grim it seemed. Trusting in God and having the faith for healing and miracles are what is getting them through this, and have they seen God’s hand! He has been faithful and used Mark as a testimony to many, many people. His positive attitude has caused many to ask "Why are you so positive?" and he has been able to share his faith and God's grace with people. I am so inspired to always stay positive and to trust that God has a plan for me; even when we don't understand or necessarily like what life throws at us, we need to remember that if we're living according to God's call, it'll al work out for the best. If you'd like to follow along with the progress of Mr. Gettis you can go here and see updates! His progress is remarkable and so exciting. Below is a picture of the size of his tumor when diagnosed, and then the next is the scan from earlier this week! Praise God!

Now for your gift!
Another delicious recipe thanks to Mom 4 Real!
It's been a super busy week, so I'm sharing recipes and ideas from some other wonderful blogs and websites.

What you'll need:
17 oz. container of Marshmallow Fluff
1/2 of an 8oz. container of whipped topping (I like Cool Whip)
1 tbs. CoffeeMate Peppermint Mocha Creamer
Crushed Peppermints or Candy Canes

Mix the first three ingredients and then top with the peppermint pieces. Serve with Vanilla Wafers or Snickerdoodles! Enjoy the yummy-ness*
