rough mornings.

It's just been one of those days. And its only 10:30am. If the rest of my day is looking like my morning so far, I might as well crawl back into bed.

It all started when I woke up. The room was hot and stuffy, my mouth was dry. I leapt out of bed, only to realize that my muscles were quite awake yet. OUCH!

Checked my email. Nothing. I was waiting on an email from a Professor giving me TA work to get started on. I guess I have to forfeit this pay week. Checked the weather. Hot. IT IS SEPTEMBER, it should not be close to 90 degrees.

Got in the shower, got soap in my eye. Then the shower wouldn't shut off. Frantically, I turned the knobs all the way to the left. Then the right. That was at 8:30 and it's still running. I expect a wet bathroom floor when I get back to the apartment.

I had to do my makeup twice because we have terrible lighting in the bathroom. That made me late. I quickly try to make coffee, spilling it all over the counter. I'm late for chapel.

Now I'm here. Trying to figure out if I should go back to the comfort of my bed. In that hot stuffy room...

"God, why am I having a rough day? Can we please just not have all these little complications today?" I wonder.

Have you ever had a day like this? It's not terrible, but its far from smooth. I think that these days (as much as I hate to admit) are necessary to keep us humble. Instead of trying to blame someone or something, I think its important that we look for help and peace from God, because days like these aren't really anyone's fault. They just happen. That's life.

When I have days like these, encouragement is truly the best remedy. If you have no one around to offer some encouragement, consider these verses and quotes, friend! You can make it through today! Change your shirt, brush your teeth, and play your favorite song. Calm down, chin up, you will have a good day.

be encouraged.
