Growing Up. - A Tiny Traveler

Growing Up.

8:21 PM

So, being in college can be pretty awesome. Its the first major step to starting your adult life. You learn new things, see new people, form new habits. There are some downfalls too. You miss out on things at home, you're poor, and your childhood and high school friendships grow apart. While this can be discouraging, I'm trying to grow as much as possible during this time. If you're going through anything similar, I hope that I can encourage you to keep your head up!

Friendships are really important and can get us through tough areas in life.  A friend can help us see life through a new lens, they can help us become the person we will be in the future, and they can really challenge us. Its never easy watching a friendship fall apart or distance grow further and further between two kindred spirits. In fact, it can be one of the hardest things to do, especially if you've known them for years and have experienced a lot with them. But take heart! We are not meant to be alone, and God will never leave us. He has a plan bigger than what we can imagine and He will provide for us, whether that be with school, home life, or friends.

When I need encouragement, I usually read Bible verses and famous quotes, so I am going to share some of my favorites with you!

"I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you."
John 15:15

"...there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother." Proverbs 18:24b

"Friendship is a single soul dwelling in two bodies." -Aristotle

"The only way to have a friend is to be one." -Ralph Waldo Emerson

"Friendship is certainly the finest balm for the pangs of disappointed love." -Jane Austen

Now, those of you who read into things are probably assuming that I am losing a friend or something along those lines, and while this isn't necessarily true, or perhaps I am not ready to admit it, I want it to be clear that I value my friends. I cherish you. I miss you, and you have helped me grow so much. College can be tough at times, but I choose to stay positive and cherish the blessings that are in my life right now. I hope that you find encouragement, I hope you find a friend.
